Recently I have been designing a lot of takes on the Deep Blue Delay for different clients (and so on the Rebote Delay 2.5, Seabed Delay etc. etc.).

Well, there comes a time in every builder's life that decisions need to be made. From Turret to PCB and these days from THT (through hole technology) to SMT (Surface mounted technology). "These days?", I hear people think. "It has been around much much longer ('60s) brat!". Yeah, yeah, true!

Over the years I bought a lot of different diodes. Some of them are said to be "magical". So I went to a land far far away and .... ok let's stop here and just all put them to the test with my trusted Peak DCA 75 Pro and see how magical it tells me they are and if there aren't just simple/cheap modern substitutes.

So why is a guitar pedal's power connection actually center negativ and not center positive like almost all other electronic appliances?
